Keep the recipient’s current deposit instructions beside your withdrawal form. Work down this checklist before submitting. A valid-looking address does not prove the asset and network are supported.
Six checks before sending
| Check | What must match or be satisfied |
|---|---|
| Asset | The same token and any required version. USDT and USDC are separate assets. |
| Network | The sending network must be one the recipient supports for that asset. |
| Address | The complete pasted address must match the current receiving instructions. |
| Memo / Tag | Include it whenever the receiving instructions require it. |
| Amount | Meet the withdrawal minimum and ensure the expected received amount meets the deposit minimum. |
| Availability | Withdrawals must be available at the sender and deposits available at the recipient. |
Name the asset
“Send some stablecoin” is not a complete instruction. Ask whether the receiver wants USDT or USDC, and check any suffix identifying a bridged or wrapped version. Tokens can share a network without being interchangeable. See the stablecoin comparison if both options are offered.
Confirm the network separately
They only sent an address, no network. Can I send first?
No. Ask for the specific network and compare it with the receiving instructions. A 0x prefix cannot identify Ethereum mainnet.
If the two platforms use different labels, establish that they refer to the same network. A paused network does not make a similar-looking alternative acceptable.
Compare the whole address
Copy the address from the current receiving instructions and check the complete result after pasting. Matching only the first and last characters can miss a difference in the middle. A complete address match still does not replace the network check.
After changing networks, obtain the address again. Scan a QR code if convenient, then check the fields it actually populated. Do not substitute a token contract address found on an explorer.
Follow the recipient’s tag requirement
There is no Memo field. Should I invent one?
No. First check whether the recipient requires a tag. If they do and your sending tool has no field, ask the sender’s support how to supply it. Leave it blank only when the receiving instructions do not require one.
Check the amount that will arrive
How big should a test transfer be?
The test transfer must meet the sender’s withdrawal minimum, and its expected received amount must meet the recipient’s deposit minimum. Check how the fee is deducted before choosing an amount.
Wait for the recipient to confirm the test was credited before sending the remainder. Keep the asset, network, address and tag unchanged; a successful test does not validate different instructions. If it is still missing, investigate the original transaction rather than immediately repeating it.
